DWB reports:

Round 13 – 3-8 Loss vs Frankston

The Magoos found the going tough this week going down against the top side 8-3.

Chris Neislon battled hard on the mound, surrendering 2 runs in the first on a 2 out double and another 2 runs in the 2nd after an error and an infield pop up turned into a hit. He was replaced by My Favourite BP machine™ in the 5th who gave up 2 runs in both the 5th and 6th to close the show in less than clampdown fashion.

While we threatened to score in most innings, eventually people will stop respecting your empty threats and just ignore you. Sooner or later you have to actually back it up with some action. My Favourite Brain Carrying Meatsack™ went 2-for and whacked a ball into the guts of the opposing pitcher, but that doesn't count on the scoreboard oddly enough. Singles to Adam Leech, Chris Neislon and Matt McKenna.

Speaking of, Matt is lucky I'm not running a fines system this year, because getting picked off at 3rd base to end an inning would likely bankrupt a fella.

I've been pondering the issue for some time and have come to the conclusion that I do prefer winning to its alternatives. So I think we'll do more of that from now on. You can read more about it in my new novella - "Why come losing done gets did by losers, huh?" available at only the crummiest of bookstores and anywhere scrap paper doesn't get thrown out routinely.
